FIFTY FIFTY
Our boat Fifty Fifty is a speedy 4.5 meter Stabicraft outfitted with a 50hp outboard. Capable of carrying 6 divers and gear for two dives she can get us anywhere within an hour of Waikawa for an astonishing variety of dive sites.
INNER SOUNDS
Start your day at the Go Dive shop and then enjoy a scenic boat trip over to Double Cove, a fish reserve with great biodiversity. After warm up with a hot cup of soup as we cruise over to the Koi wreck. Often we have to slow down to let dolphins and seabirds get out of the way. The Koi sank in 1940 in Picton Harbor. It was raised and then towed and sank just outside Double Cove bay in 12m of water. The wreck is covered in marine life including Blue Cod, Blennies, Wrasse, Leather Jackets, Sweep and Seahorses.
OUTER SOUNDS
Start your day at the Go Dive shop and then enjoy a scenic boat trip over to Long Island where the crayfish are so accustomed to the marine reserve that they walk out in the open during the day. Watch the birds on the Island, the island is virtually untouched and houses some endangered birds such as the Little Spotted Kiwi, Yellow-Crowned Parakeet and South Island Saddleback.
